5 Easy Effects For Custom Labels Improvement
Improving your custom labels through Adobe Photoshop means adding special effects unto your design. A simple background and a simple text area are of course really boring for a label, and it of course does not maximize your use of an application as powerful as Photoshop. So for your convenience, here is the list of the best Photoshop effects that you can use for your custom labels. With these great improvements for your design, your color labels should look more vibrant, more visible and more integrated in terms of design. So put on your learning cap and read through this quick list.
1. Shadow effects for text and symbols.
Shadows are one of the best and easiest ways to make a batch of text or even a whole symbol "pop out" in Photoshop. This can be done easily through the blending options of the layer that you want to improve. The great thing about Photoshop though is that you can also change the size, distance and even the color of the shadow itself. So whatever your design is, you can customize the shadow itself to fit your specifications. This is great for any kind of label design, improving the visibility of the text and symbols within the design.
2. Embossed effects for text and symbols.
Another great effect that you can use for your custom labels are embossed effects. This effect basically adds some shiny elements, plus some light shadow elements within the text and symbols that you want to improve. The end result basically makes those design elements look like they are made of a physical lifted material, much like the embossing you see in your typical credit card layout. This is perfect for labels where you want to simulate that embossed effect, but not pay for that particular expensive procedure. You can find this easily in the blending options of your layers in Photoshop.
3. Glow effects for text and symbols.
Of course, another standard effect in Photoshop that is popular to many color label designers is the glow effect. This is particularly popular with product labels where certain words and symbols need to be emphasized with an eye catching glow. If you can imagine the words "NEW AND IMPROVED" with light rays shooting out from them in all directions then you should have a good idea of the result of this effect. You can even customize this in the blending options in Photoshop. You can alter the color and the spread of the glow any way you like.
4. Texture effects for images and text.
Another great effect that you should try out for your color labels are texture effects. As the name implies, this effect basically adds a certain texture to your text or symbols. You can basically make them look like they were made of something else. You can have them look like they are printed in satin, canvass, or if you download special textures, you can basically make them look like any other material you like. You can find this effect in the blending options for the layer, or it can also be done by adding a clipping mask above the layer with the texture you want.
5. Color gradient effects for backgrounds.
When it comes to the background of your color labels, a great Photoshop effect that you must definitely try is the color gradient. Instead of printing your labels with a plain white or plain color background, you can add a more dynamic background using color gradients. With this effect, the background can easily be changed to one that changes colors seamlessly. You can find the color gradient tool in the tools section of Photoshop, right with the Pain Bucket tool.
With all these simple but great Photoshop effects, you should be all set in improving those color labels. Believe me, all of these great features will improve your label layout, turning them into really effective label prints.

How do I blend in with the localist in Czech?
I will be going to Czech once again this summer. I know my way around, the economy, basic lanaguage, and other things. However I would like to know more so I can better blend in since I like to avoid american tourist and get known to people there more. What do I wear? What are some custom that many foreigner overlook? Any thing I should avoid saying?
Oh also I'm deaf so I usual communication with paper and pen, is that odd for the deaf in Czech? They seems to understand what was going on unlike american who never get clue!
I got a few tips. I live in Prague and I ALWAYS recognize tourists.
1) NEVER wear a photo camera on you. This is the number 1 sign of a tourist. If you indeed want to have a camera with you, carry it in your handbag, do not wear it around your neck.
2) Avoid carrying a map with you. It makes you look like you do not know where you are and therefore prevents you from blending in with the Czechs.
3) Try not to look awestruck at the beauty of Prague. I see this everyday. When I ride in a tram, the tourists around me look eagerly from side to side, trying to get a glimpse of Prague castle or other historical buildings. Try to look nonchalant, so that you look like Prague is nothing new to you. I do this "trick" all the time when I am in London, I try to look like I belong there. When I first saw Westminster Abbey in London, I was awestruck but I tried not to look like it.
4) Avoid carrying a large backpack with you when you are touring the city, a small handbag is just fine. Carrying a backpacks in the city centre looks a bit weird and tourist-like. Backpacks are suitable for a trip to the mountains, but not a modern city centre.
5) Most of all, try to visit less touristy things in Prague. It is very unlikely that if you visit Prague Castle you will meet local people. They usually hang around local pubs, local parks, many local Czechs also go for a walk in forests which are usually in the suburbs.
I hope my few tips helped and I hope you enjoy your visit to Prague.
