my poor little guinea pig i think he has something caught in his throat?
i have a little guinea piggg. his name is freddy. yesterday i fed him some celery. when i hold him i lay him on a towel. he has been biting on the towel and pulling with his teeth and i don't know if he is getting strings in his mouth? well last night and today about every 20 minutes he opens his mouth and closes it and acts like he is gagging. i try to get my finger in his mouth but i think it hurts him and he keeps biting me. what could be the problem and how can i help him? :^(
What has worked for another person is to blow gently into its mouth a few times. Blow, count to 3 and blow again and do this about 5 times, if there is something stuck in his throat this should dislodge it. Usually when my guinea pigs bit at the towel they want me to cover them with it, so try covering him with the towel and see what happens OK. I highly doubt anything to bad is going on with him as so much time has passed and he is still here to e a guinea pig, if he had to much going on he would most likely have died by now, if his condition worsens at all get him to an exotic vet asap.
