housing crickets for chameleon food?
I have 4 adult chameleons and i need to start keeping crickets so that i wont have to run to pet store everyday.
Is it okay to just keep the crickets in the aqaurium with carrots and egg crates? do they need a mesh top or is a closed top fine? like the ones for aqauriums? also does anyone know a website that sells crickets?
Also another quesiton about chameleons...what is the minimum and maximum of crickets adult and baby chameleons could be feed?
I keep my crickets in an old cracked 10 gallon tank. A mesh top is better for air circulation (it will keep the smell of them down). Carrots are good, but an apple is better. I use carrots, lettuce, apples (when I have them). You can put a small piece of damp sponge in the tank for water. Try www.flukerfarms.com for crickets, they are a top company. As to how much to feed I would say that depends on the animal and size, it's something you will have to figure out.
