Three Trout Fishing Lures That Are Guaranteed to Improve Your Fishing Technique

Trout fishing lures are simple and effective in catching trout. The whole idea behind the lure is to imitate the kind of fish a trout would go after. The main feature and draw for using the lure is the lures ability to look just like trout prey. Within this article are a few lures that some of the best angler and novices can use for fishing trout.

Weight Spinner:

These come in all weights and sizes. If the trout are more towards the bottom of stream, then use a heavier weight with an upstream cast. If the trout are more shallow swimmers use a lighter spinner with the same upstream cast. You never want to cast right on top of the trout. Let the spinner come to them.

Spoons:

These are another good choice for beginners and novices. Once again they come in all shapes, weights and sizes. These are great for fishing early in the season when the trout swim deep and slow. Use a spoon that is no larger than one inch and with enough weight to sink it to the bottom of the stream. Spoons attract trout through their wobbly motion as they sink down into the depths.

Mini Stickbaits:

These lures resemble a silvery minnow or a fingerling trout. For a trout this looks like a taste snack. One of the best lures in this category is the rainbow trout pattern. It works great in creeks and smaller bodies of water. Best method is to cast this lure and let it sink a little. As it rises, the lure resembles a dying minnow. This is a prime meal for any trout. The strike usually occurs when the lure has slowly surfaced and reached the waterline.

There are just some of the great lures that can be used for fishing trout. No matter how good the lure is, technique and knowledge are still your best support for getting a bite on your line. Practice and patience makes perfect. When you find a lure that works, stick with it. Don't continue to try different lures. Perfect your methods with what works to gain consistent success.

Mine favorite is an old school plastic worm

A Mann's Grape Jelly worm , they dont sell them much anymore, (or I cant find them in stores) , I used to really catch bass on them . I texas rigged them with a light bullet weight and fished them slowly on the bottom . I could catch bass under most any conditions, and anywhere on those worms. I have literally caught thousands of bass on those type worms .

I guess now I fish a vartiety and try not to have one favorite lure . The bass here seem to like topwater for a few days and a soft plastic the next few . So I change favorites a lot more now.

But my all time fav is the Jelly Worm
