What is the best Multi purpose lens for a Nikon N70?

I am looking for a good multi-purpose lens for my film Nikon N70, that won't be too expensive.

For the N70, one great suggestion would be the Nikon 24-120mm or the 24-85mm. I used the 24-85mm for years before switching to my Nikon DSLR. Read further here.
