Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique New Watch

To commemorate end of the Double Tourbillon 30° Contemporaine line at the end of 2010, Greubel Forsey has launched the exclusive Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique.

Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique features structured text on the dial and decorative hand-engraved plates on the sides of the case.

Since the debut of Greubel Forsey's adventure in 2004, there have been three lines of the Double Tourbillon 30°: Contemporaine (Vision and Secret); Invention (Invention Piece 1); and Technique (Double Tourbillon 30° Technique). In 2010, Greubel Forsey will close the Double Tourbillon 30° Contemporaine line - thus ensuring its exclusivity - with this new Double Tourbillon 30° Edition Historique.

The complexity of this timepiece is visible in its intricate tourbillon system and gold dial with three sapphire crystal plates featuring the story of the Double Tourbillon 30° in structured three-dimensional text. Bevelled relief on the case side provides another distinctive feature.

The Edition Historique is available in two unique series of 11 pieces in 5N red gold and 11 pieces in platinum.

Can you return a double value in Java? If you can than how do you do it?

I'm creating a CashRegister Class for my programming class. I need to create methods that will tell the user the quantity of coins and dollars to give back for change.

ex) change = $2.50 -- 2 dollars, and 2 quarters.

I have the method that gives the amount of dollars back already written. I am just having trouble with the quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies (because they are double values). I appreciate any help anyone can give me. :)

You're better off writing a function that can compute all the change required, and send it back not as a double but rather as an integer array. Here is a solution for you:

Note: When the array comes back the index looks like this
0 = Dollars
1 = Quarters
2 = Dimes
3 = Nickels
4 = Pennies

private int[] getChangeAmount(double change) {

// size of 5 for dollars, quarters, dimes, nickles, pennies.
int[] result = new int[5];

int theChange = (int)(change * 100);

int dollars = (int) (theChange / 100);
int coins = (int) (theChange % 100);

int Q = 0; // quarters
int D = 0; // dimes
int N = 0; // nickels
int P = 0; // pennies

result[0] = dollars;

// get coins now
while(coins != 0) {
if(coins >= 25) {
coins -= 25;
Q++;
} else if(coins >= 10) {
coins -= 10;
D++;
} else if(coins >= 5) {
coins -= 5;
N++;
} else {
coins -= 1;
P++;
}

} // end while loop

result[1] = Q;
result[2] = D;
result[3] = N;
result[4] = P;

return result;
}
