mirrors and French furniture

The Different Variations of French Furniture

Furniture, if you take the Cyberspace resident cyclopaedia, Wikipedia is defined as moveable objects that can hold up the human body or bear objects above the ground or supply storage.  For sure, that explanation is very comprehensive indeed!  The sorts of furniture executing a storage purpose includes bookcases, cupboard units, wall storage units, and storage cabinets. Our general understanding is that furniture can be outlined as structural, artistic articles that complement the inside, as well as outside conception of our dwellings and business offices.

Furniture can be grouped in numerous different ways.  More often than not, it can be grouped according to function.  There is furniture for seating, including the beanbag, the bench, the chair, the couch, and the footstool.  Then there are sets of furniture, for instance, the bedroom set taking in the bed and the headboard and likewise the dining set, with table, chairs and sideboard.  In addition, for open areas, there is the side table, the desk, the small table, the foldaway table, and the telephone table.

It goes without saying, furniture is extremely significant in our everyday living because it makes our dwellings, offices and other places desirable and easy to inhabit and work in.  But useful purpose is not the only purpose of furniture.  It is understood, we pick out furniture for its artistic qualities also.  In as much, as we require it to be functional, we must also take on board that it can also be used for ornamentation.  Moreover, luckily, the furniture business understands this fact. To date, there is a mass of furniture sets that are made with achieving artistic purpose as a all important feature. Some are even acknowledged as art, otherwise known as decorative art.

In bygone centuries, there have been articles of furniture that are designed with a double purpose.  Furniture pieces from earlier periods such as the Classical world, Modern Europe, Asian History, 19th century, and the era of Modernism have all attested to this.  Impressive art objects of furniture are period pieces.  French furniture styles such as Rococo, Baroque, Art Nouveau, and Neo-classical are much desired art objects.

During the Renaissance, many creative people from Italy, including many architects and artists arrived in France and their influence introduced the idea of considering furniture as an art form. This was the time of glorious furniture design. Cabinets then replaced chests, chairs were cushioned, and even everyday tables were given sculptural designs. Mythological forms greatly influenced the patterns as nymphs and shepherds, emblems of the seasons, foliation and friezes became popular. Superior quality timber, including walnut, ebony and oak also emerged as the selected materials. The decoration style of the French Renaissance Furniture has resplendent sculptured carvings as a precedence in their design, with capitals, friezes, and garlands.

Another significant expressive style of French Furniture is Art Nouveau. The Art Nouveau progressive trend started in the 1890's and was successfully founded by the Universal Exhibition. This groundbreaking movement is the style that brought nature, flowers, living creatures and the female form as decoration for pieces of furniture.

Following on from the style of the Art Nouveau movement was Art Deco.  Art Deco was the opposite of its successor being produced in the art schools of the capitals of Europe.  Art Deco Furniture was the foremost to employ metals like wrought iron, steel and chrome and then lacquer to form the ornamentation inherent in the projected design.  This makes a decoration with a sequence of strong colours, in designs which comprises leaf garlands, fruit baskets and flower bouquets.

All of these differing modes of Ornate French Furniture are all worthwhile of further research and deliberation.  In successive epochs, French craftsmen have tried means of getting the serviceable ordinary objects of furniture into pieces of wonderful attractive beauty.  The materials they have employed and the sorts of aesthetic styles are representative of the points in the ages during which they were fashioned.  This is a captivating field which when contemplated, can help you to make your abode a more idyllic house in which to dwell.

Who would win in a fight? Hogwarts or Camp Half-Blood?

I've been thinking about this for awhile. Who would win in a fight? Both the Camp Half-Bloods (Roman and Greek, but no satyrs or nymphs or anything else) or the students from Hogwarts (no teachers, just current students). Just for the purpose of being fair, this is long after Percy Jackson and Harry Potter are gone. They died. (Just to remind you, Thalia Grace can't die or age and there is nothing stopping you from assuming she is helping Camp Half-Blood)

Demigods:
A lot more practice fighting.
More well rounded.

Wizards:
Magic
And more people.

Please, give me your opinions on any or every type of fight.

No special anything. Just fists.
Weapons allowed without charms. (Yeah the demigods have charms too)
Weapons with charms. No magic or godly help.
No rules.
Hogwarts home field? Camp Half-Blood home field?
What is your opinion?

Half-blood?? HALF-blood? You must be joking. This is pathetic.
