Is there a special tool to get the "Outer Right Tie Rod End" off? It wont seem to come loose?
I tried a 22 mm wrench and vice grips to unscrew the nut at the end but the inner tie rod keeps moving and I feel like I'm going to bend the joint at the end of the inner tie rod because It's moving all over when I try to get a grip. PLEASE HELP!! this tie rod is so annoying. I have a 1997 Dodge Stratus es 6 cyl.
You can get threaded tie-rod remover for about $15 from automotive specialty tool. Place the tool over the tie-rod end, and tighten the thread until the the ball joint pops out. I work on all type of cars, and was able to pop most of joints within minutes with this tool.
You can also use folk type tie rod remove tool but requires lot of banging and pounding.
