Salmon Sea

Avoiding sea lice sting
Have you ever noticed those tiny little oval animals stuck to the salmon you just caught from the sea water? Most likely they are sea lice. They have been around as long as salmon have been swimming. These small copepods are incredibly abundant – they comprise the largest source of protein in the world’s oceans in their early larval stages. Copepods have colonized almost every aquatic habitat on earth, and collectively compose the largest animal family on earth.
The sea lice prevalent in the warm waters of the Gulf of Carribean, Mexico, and along both the east and west coasts of the United States .During the summer season, sea lice are considered as the most commonly encountered stinging threat to swimmers and divers at the beach.
If you are unfortunate enough to encounter sea lice such common symptoms will be happen. Severe reactions to sea lice exposure may include chills, fever, headaches, vomiting and nausea, especially in children. Extreme allergic reactions may require hospitalization in rare cases. These painful and unsightly lesions may appear anywhere on the body. But they are often concentrated in areas covered by swimwear as large numbers of larvae often become trapped in these regions. Include an intensely itchy red rash with small blisters and elevated areas of skin.
While swimming your first sign that something is amiss may be an burning or itching sensation in affected areas of your skin. Do not wear the same swimsuit again until it's been thoroughly machine washed and dried. If you suspect you've been exposed to sea lice, please exit the water immediately, then shower thoroughly after removing your bathing suit. Do not rinse with fresh water when you are still wearing the suit since this will cause the stinging cells still in the fabric to fire, releasing even more venom.
The summary of avoding the sea lice sting:
First, remove swimsuit and shower immediately after bathing.
Second, wear a wetsuit if you are diving in sea lice infested waters.
Finally, wash bathing suit in hot water with detergent before wearing again
Victoria, BC, 2010, was recently choosed as the next destination for the international sea lice conference series. The goal of the International Sea Lice Conference series is to bring together regulatory agencies and international research groups to foster communication and collaboration on sea lice research. This follows on discussions at the 7th International Sea Lice Conference (2008) in Chile and more recent discussions at the Pacific Salmon Forum (2008) in Vancouver.
The last International Sea Lice Conference was held in Puerto Varas, Chile, March 2008. 150 delegates from all the major salmon farming nations were attracted by this conference, as well as other regions such as Australia and Asia where seasonal sea lice epidemics are a concern in non-salmonid fish farming. There was good representation from regulators ,industry and academia. Topics covered included genomics, molecular genetics, modeling, and epidemiology, wild-farm fish interactions, integrated pest management, resistance and regulatory policy.
Many nations and institutes are eager to join the conference at Sea Lice 2010 to hear national and international experts’s presentations on the latest issues and science. They will participate in discussions on current research. Also they can provide recommendations for the future, connect and interact with other.

Could deep sea salmon oil really prevent getting stroke?
are there any clinic evidences to prove that effect?....or, if you have taken it before and found it work to prevent a stroke....please share...
The omega 3's in salmon oil can reduce the risk by reducing arterial inflammation.
Be sure to eat only wild salmon. All Alaskan salmon is required by law to be wild. NEVER eat farmed salmon. It is a hideously polluted fish.
