Me and my friend found 2 house sparrow baby eggs any idea what i should do with them?

We were walking one day and found 2 baby house sparrow eggs that were blueish with brown speckles. We took them in and decided to nurture them and become there parents. We have been looking information all day and wondering what we should do.Everyone we know kept saying they have no doubt that they will hatch. But we hope to prove them wrong and hatch them.the last 2 we found hatched and lived and died a week later... Because a wild animal got to our precious baby birds and terrorized them they were scared to death and died. So can anyone help me before it's to late?? Thank you and contact us at my email: leighanne.oreilly@yahoo.com

-Thank you!

I'm really hoping you didn't remove eggs from a nest. Some people mistakenly think that a nest without the mother bird setting on it has been "abandoned", when in reality the eggs are still be collected into a clutch prior to the incubation process beginning.

If you find a nest with eggs in it, LEAVE IT ALONE. Human interference in hatching and fledging wild birds has a very low success rate (hence your previous experience of having chicks hatch and die within a week's time).

If the eggs were found on the ground, it is possible that another bird or predator got into the nest and knocked the eggs to the ground. Other birds can be competitive with nesting territory and will actively destroy nests from other pairs. Other animals also eat eggs and sometimes scatter eggs when raiding nests. If the eggs were found on the ground, there's a good chance that the fall has damaged the yolk, meaning that it will not incubate and hatch.

The best thing you can do is return the eggs to the nest where you found them, and leave wild birds' eggs alone in the future. Sometimes our well-intentioned attempts at "saving" eggs causes more harm than good.
