Pipe Starter Kits For New Pipe Smokers
Pipe smoking is on the rise in recent years, due to the desire to smoke tobacco but not have the attachment to cigarettes. Cigars and pipes normally have a more classy appearance and connotation than cigarettes. For individuals intending to try pipe smoking as an alternative to smoking other types of tobacco or for other recreational purposes, most suppliers offer reasonable pipe starter kits. Most pipe starter kits include a low or medium range quality pipe, a tobacco pouch, a pipe tool, pipe cleaners, pipe bits, and an amount of tobacco averaging at around eight ounces. A pipe starter kit should cost about $40 and have about $80 worth of products and supplies included.
The tobacco included in a pipe starter kit will normally be a blended form of standard pipe tobacco with average straight flavor. Pipe tobacco does come in different flavors and strengths, but this will be a medium strength, standard grade tobacco. It will come in a plastic zipped bag about the size of a sandwich bag. The tobacco will appear in pieces about the size of party confetti and smell much like a fine cigar.
Pipe cleaners are very common items familiar to most people, but the type typically included in a pipe starter kit will be white in color, a little longer than average, but the standard width. The tobacco pouch will be the size and style of an eyeglass case but it meant to carry a pipe and its accessories. Tobacco pouches are normally made of leather or a similar material and are used to carry a pipe, accessories, and typically a small portion of tobacco for travel purposes. Pipe bits cover the stem of a pipe to protect it from teeth marks. Over the course of the time smoking a pipe, holding the pipe in the mouth using the side teeth, bite marks would naturally occur. Pipe bits are engineered to absorb the grinding down by the teeth to protect the stem of the cigar, extending the life of the pipe and protecting the appearance, much like a cell phone case does for a cell phone.
To complete the pipe starter kit and give the new smoker everything needed for a proper pipe smoking experience, a pipe tool is also included. A pipe tool is a rather vague reference to a small three-piece tool that aids in packing, smoking, and emptying tobacco pipes. Typically, a pipe tool consists of a pick, a reamer, and a tamper. The pick is a pointed, narrow rod designed to clear debris from the shank of the pipe and/or aerates tightly packed tobacco. The reamer is used to remove residue like ash and unburned tobacco from the edges of the pipe in a scraping motion. The tamper is a blunt piece with a flat end for packing the tobacco when the bowl of the pipe is being packed, and crushing the materials together to aide in relighting.

Could anyone recommend a good starter kit for developing black and white films?
I don't need to print the films as I've got a scanner, but would appreciate being able to just walk in somewhere, buy a starter kit, and buy the chemicals. Many Thanks
You will need:
a dark place to load the film into the tank...those black bags don't work so well because they tend to get quite dirty and will add dust to your film
specialist gloves which are optional but are great if you don't want fingerprints on your negs
the tank for processing it in-how big you want it will depend on how many films you want to do at a time...the reel that comes with it will do both 35mm and 120
a bottle opener type thing for taking the top of the film canister when you open it up and take the film out
a thermometer
all the chemicals - developer, stop and fixer
a stop watch or clock
instructions on how to process and how long to process for
a sgueege(don't now how to spell that) for taking excess water off the film after you have washed it
some sort of soap stuff like fairy liquid(jessops or a specialised photo shop will be able to tell you what it is ur looking for) which you use just b4 u wash it to help take off excess chemicals
a dust free environment, preferably, to dry your negs
neg holders to put the dry negs in after your finished to keep them dust free until you scan them in....
