Enjoy Kite Flying- Keep Safe
Kite flying is an extreme sport that is usually played during safe windy days. Yes, you heard me right, I said safe windy days. Kite flying is a bit of a dangerous sport since this includes you flying on a kite. You may crash unto unsafe grounds like big rocks, tall trees, buildings, dangerous areas of water bodies, or you may get tangled with power lines. It may cause you harm or worse, death if you just ride and fly your kite without yet looking at the basic steps and precautions to keep you safe. Here are some tips for you to look at before you verge into riding in your kite and flying.
Weather is the first thing you need to check out before you drag your kite outside your home. Check initially the weather forecast on that day and time. See if this weather is best for kite flying and will not just bring you injuries. You may check real-time weather forecast from the internet, television, radio or newspapers.
Do not fly your kite in crowded places. People may be considered an interruption as you fly your kite and you cannot easily land whenever you want.
There is one thing that you should always remember when flying a kite, set a 100-m distance from all kind of obstructions such as buildings, rocks, trees or power lines for may get caught up on those as you fly the kite.
Do not kite offshore, or when the wind is going offshore. For sure, you and kite will really get directed there. Usually when you are tired yet you are offshore, you may swim to the shore. But this may be a dangerous to stop your kite and just swim. There may be sharks, jellyfish and other hazardous marine life under since it is already far away from the shore.
It is best to kite if the wind is going sideshore. Avoid winds which are directly going offshore or onshore. Be alert with weather changes. If you think the wind direction is changing, take off your kite. It might not be good to stay anymore.
Just like any other kind of sports, kite flying also has its appropriate equipments and outfits to use. Always wear your helmets. This can protect your head against any bumping. And most especially wear your helmet when using a board leash.
A knife may save from any tangles. Just in case you get tangled while kiting. You may use this knife to cut and free you from these tangles especially when you are in a dangerous situation.

any advice for swimming the 200 fly long course (swimmers that are out there, please help)!!!!?
my coach put me in the 200 fly long course and im not even a butterflyer and i can barely even do 100 fly plus its LONG COURSE and i had a 3 week break like 2 weeks ago and my group isnt even back in shape yet... so if i havent even swam 200 fly short course why would my coach even DARE to put me in 200 fly long course. PLEASE HELP ME IM FREAKING OUT!

Your worst fear is that you won't make it to the end of the event. OK, lets say that happens. You just pick yourself up and move on. No big deal. You'll either surprise yourself or you won't get through it. But even if you don't you'll find out what you need to do to get better...
So let's focus on what you need to do to get through it. I'm no 200 butterfly swimmer, but I think the best thing you can do is relax and find a nice, steady rhythm. Fly needs to be done at a decent pace, but don't work it too hard. Use that second kick at the back of the stroke and let your arms just flop over, nice and easy.
Practice doing that between now and then. Try to get a feel for the pace and rhythm you can work at.
Two things to leave you with.
1) It's 200 fly, so it will hurt. But don't let that stop you ![]()
2) It's totally normal to feel nervous when you are facing up to a challenge. But that's what makes it a challenge. And it it wasn't a challenge it wouldn't be worth doing...
